identity is being focused around the concepts of physicality, technology
and risk, leaving things like educational achievement to the girls.
In many countries it's not cool for young men to try too hard at school and they're less likely to think education will lead to workplace success.
They seem to begin with a lot more sexual ambiguity than past generations. Swapping gender partners is not a fatal social crime - especially for young women. There's also far less division between gay and straight communities now.
Being defined by a single aspect of your personal makeup is seen as far too limiting - whether that's your sexual orientation, your gender, your age or your race.
Dance party culture has driven some of that with large events and the prevalence of 'friendly' drugs. The new generation manages their moods through a complex blend of stimulants and hypnotics.
