Jill Caldwell
Researcher since 1989. Employee of market research firms: AGB McNair, Heylen Research Centre, CM Research from 1989 to 1999.
I established Windshift in February 2000 to focus on social trends research and on practical exploratory research.
This culminated in the 2007 book 8 Tribes: the hidden classes of New Zealand which I co-authored with communications specialist Chris Brown.
Now, whilst Windshift is increasingly specialising in four areas:
- social values,
- education,
- environment and
- business and economic development topics,
I'm now expanding my thinking - doing the rough equivalent of a higher degree - just not at a university.
The world is changing dramatically and I feel that I have to somehow keep up, rather than doing what most of my fellow baby boomers are doing and sitting back.
I think that's what wisdom is - knowing what you already know but being open to what you don't yet know.
